Product Overview

The Eureka UHF active RFID starter kit - wakeup

version is a complete starter kit supplied with an RF

reader, wakeup units, cables, tags, software and

manuals. This kit provides an ideal low cost

introduction into ultra high frequency (UHF) active

RFID.

Reader

The Eureka UHF Active Tag Reader is a self contained

receiver unit with an 868MHz PCB dipole antenna

that detects and decodes Eureka-iD tags. The reader

unit communicates via TCP/IP over a standard LAN

connection. The unit has a 12V DC power supply.

Reader configuration can be setup through software

and firmware control.

The reader unit can detect transmitting Eureka tags

up to 100 metres away in free air but will vary

depending on environment and factors that effect RF.

Wakeup Unit

The wakeup unit is a stand alone unit used to activate

the Eureka tags to enable them to send their data to

the reader. The unit with an integral antenna

produces a controllable RF field that activates the tag

when it enters the field. Typically this can provide up

to 5m range.

The Eureka UHF active RFID starter kit offers a cost

effective long range tagging system for a wide variety

of applications.
