optimum configuration with its link partner.
Manual Configuration
The LXT970A Transceiver can be manually configured to force operation in the following modes:

Auto-Negotiation/Parallel Detection
With auto-negotiation enabled at power-up or reset, the LXT970A Transceiver attempts to
establish link operating conditions with its partner by sending Fast Link Pulse (FLP) bursts.
If the link partner is also capable of auto-negotiation, the two devices exchange FLP bursts to
communicate their capabilities to each other. Each side finds the highest common capabilities that
both sides can support and then begins operating in that mode.
