NOTIFICATION TYPE:
Customers must notify ON Semiconductor in writing within 30 days of receipt of this notification if
they consider the discontinued product to be "Sole Source." ON Semiconductor and the customer may
negotiate an appropriate End-of-Life.
DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:
ON Semiconductor is committed to providing our customers with products that are compliant with
environmental regulations. It is our primary objective to assist our customers with a smooth transition
as our products are converted to lead free (Pb-free) termination finishes. In order to minimize the
confusion regarding discontinuance notices for products ON is exiting, versus the standard conversion
of leaded (Pb) parts to lead free (PB free or G suffix) parts, ON semiconductor will be issuing distinct
EOL notices for Pb to Pb free conversions. All Pb free parts contain a G suffix or have a Z inserted in
the root part number and are RoHS compliant. ON Semiconductor wishes to promptly inform our
customers of our intent to discontinue the leaded version of these devices so that you may plan
appropriately and effectively for ordering the drop in Pb free replacement devices.
This notification also includes approximately ten other root part numbers that are the result of a
manufacturing supply agreement as part of ON Semiconductor’s acquisition of the voltage regulation
and thermal monitoring products lines for computing applications from Analog Devices, Inc. Please
note that because of this supply agreement, ON Semiconductor can not comply with a minimum last
buy date of six months as per JESD48B, however ON Semiconductor will work together with
customers to ensure that the overall impact of this discontinuance is minimized. ON Semiconductor
has provided a list of replacement devices to aid in a continued supply of products.
