Performance Based Plating for Series 8609 Din 41612 Receptacles
Nature of Change:
Most of the Market applications of DIN 41612 connectors calls for performance specifications
according to DIN 41612/IEC Standards and FCI had been offering Gold Plated DIN
Receptacles complying with DIN 41612/IEC Class I, II & III Performance requirements.
Material for Series 8609 DIN Receptacles. FCI had developed GXT plating in the 1980’s and
have used this plating on numerous other connector families over the past three decades.
Consequent to this FCI will have the flexibility to offer both types of plating against the same
specification. Their would be no change in the FCI part numbers
requirements and the relevant test report is available on request

The PCN is being released so that customers are aware of the latest practices being followed
for the DIN 41612 connectors and no specific customer action is required ,subsequent to this
PCN
Affected Part Numbers:
FCI is now introducing Palladium Nickel Alloy with Gold Flash ( GXT), as additional Plating
Series 8609 DIN Receptacles with GXT Plating have been tested to DIN 41612/IEC
FCI will begin shipments of GXT Plated DIN Receptacles from 1st
