The illuminated option can be used with the basic F series switches including the power
switches. By the addition of a lampholder, lamp, and lens a versatile illuminated switch is
obtained. Three methods of termination are available (see above).
The F series illuminated option is also available in multiple assemblies with a minimum spacing
centerline of 17.5 mm (.689 inch).
In backlight push-buttons the heat of the lamps has to be considered. With intermittent or
continuous operation up to 0.6 W, it is quite easy to dissipate heat. With higher rating or
simultaneously burning lamps, especially in connection with the heat created by the equipment
itself, it is necessary to provide efficient venting holes or air circulation.
Note: Power switches must have auxiliary low power contacts for illumination.
