The EV kit provides for the use of an external synchro-
nous rectifier. To utilize an external synchronous
rectifier, install an adequate n-channel MOSFET (Q1)
and remove or replace diode D1. Installing a smaller
diode in conjunction with the synchronous rectifier
improves efficiency. Leaving the diode unpopulated
reduces cost. See Table 4 for recommended components.
