The PolySwitch femtoSMDC device meets the continuing miniaturization demands of the

electronics industry and expands Tyco Electronics’ industry-leading line of circuit

protection devices. The device’s ultra-small footprint – measuring a mere 1.6mm x

0.8mm x 0.5mm – offers designers flexibility in space-constrained applications, and

helps protect sensitive electronics from damage caused by both overcurrent and

overtemperature events

The 0603 (1608mm) EIA compliant form factor device can be used in the latest

generation of high frequency data ports, I/O ports and storage devices. Its resettable

functionality helps improve reliability, enhance customer satisfaction and reduce

warranty repair costs.

The device’s small size, fast time-to-trip, and low power dissipation make it a logical

and innovative solution for high-density circuit board designs. Rated at 9V, the

femtoSMDC016F device provides a hold current of 0.16A, a trip current of 0.40A and a

maximum resistance of 4.2 .

The femtoSMD device is terminated with nickel-tin finish for solderability and is compatible with high-volume assembly processes.

The device is halogen-free, RoHS compliant and UL and CSA certified.
