11.1
The 8-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is a successive approximation ADC designed for operation
within an integrated microcontroller system-on-chip. The ADC module design supports up to 28 separate
analog inputs (AD0-AD27). Only 8 (AD0-AD3, and AD8-AD11) of the possible inputs are implemented
on the SC9S08MZ16. These inputs are selected by the ADCH bits. Some inputs are shared with I/O pins
as shown in

The ADC in SC9S08MZ16 only provides 8-bit operation. The 10-bit and
12-bit operations are not supported. This chapter reserves the description of
10-bit and 12-bit operations to be compatible with the reference manuals of
other Freescale 8-bit MCUs.
