MAX134 Evaluation Kit
J5 is the JTAG connection for programming the
MAXQ2000. Because the JTAG connects the digital
ground to an external ground, all other connections must
be removed before connecting the JTAG. Disconnecting
inputs from J1–J4 removes the possibility of a ground
loop.
Programming the MAXQ2000 requires more current than
the MAX4164 is specified to deliver, so additional drive
current is provided by placing shunts on JU5 and JU6.

JTAG Connection
The shunts can remain in place for normal operation with
no impact, but should be removed when making supply
current measurements.
Failure to remove test-equipment connection, analog
inputs, the USB connection, or to install the shunts on
JU5 and JU6 could cause errors when trying to program
the MAXQ2000. Low battery voltage could also be anoth-
er cause of errors when programming the MAXQ2000.
