cost dual-port PC/104 serial communication

board featuring 60V optical isolation. The

104-COM-2S is the non-isolated version.

Optically isolating the serial data lines from

each other, and from the computer, assures

smooth, error-free data transmission even

in noisy, real-world environments. The two

serial ports are based on the 16C550 UART

with a 16 byte FIFO, useful for high-speed

communications and in any operating

system. The ports are available via two

DB9 Male connectors with jack screws to

eliminate vibration worries in harsh environ -

ments and applications.

Field-selectable RS-422 and RS-485 for each port

Auto-RTS feature makes half-duplex RS-485 communications

Fixed bias and jumper selectable termination provided on each

transmit and receive channel simpli es cabling

The Model 104-ICOM-2S is a rugged, low

is selected by jumpers on the board. Two-

and four-wire communications are possible

including four-wire RS-485 communication.

Bias is provided as a standard on the trans -

mit and receive lines, whereas termination

is jumper selected, which can simplify sys -

tem architecture by eliminating some of the

need to install resistors in the eld cabling

system.

package. This contains sample programs

and source code in "C" and Pascal for DOS,

and Visual Basic, Delphi, C++ Builder, and

a graphical setup program in Windows.

Embedded OS support includes Windows

XPe and CE. An easy-to-use Windows termi -

nal program simpli es veri cation of proper

operation.
