INSTALLATION
This bulkhead luminaire features an integral daylight sensing photocell which will automatically
switch the light on at dusk and off at dawn.
Unit is for indoor or outdoor use. Unit must be mounted as a fixed luminaire, and is not suitable
for portable use.
PArTS INCLUDED
- low energy utility bulkhead.
- Instruction manual. please keep safe for future reference.
- Accessory pack including screws and wall plugs.
- 18W pl fluorescent lamp.
TOOLS & PArTS NEEDED
- 3 flexible core cable (1.0mm² or 1.5mm²).
- electric/hand-held drill & bits.
- Terminal or electricians screwdriver.
- Wire cutters.
Do not attempt to install during wet weather, if you are suffering from nausea or dizzy spells or
on medication with similar side effects.
After choosing a suitable location (see previous section) install the unit as follows:
The unit is suitable for connection to a 240 V ac 50Hz electricity supply. It is suggested that
3-core round flexible cable of 1mm² or 1.5mm² gauge is used. An internal switch should be
installed to switch the power to the unit On & OFF. This allows the unit to be easily switched off
when not required or for maintenance purposes.
Remove the two cover fixing screws and the remove the front cover see diagram A.
Remove the reflector by unscrewing the fixing screw and keep the screw and reflector in a safe
place whilst you continue with the installation.
Based on the location of your incoming cable, place the unit in desired position.
pierce the backplate with the fixing screws and mark the position of the mounting holes.
The unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally, ensure the lantern is positioned the correct
orientation by referring the to arrows marked "TOp" in either orientation. See diagram B.
Drill holes and insert wall plugs into the holes.
Fit the unit to the wall.
Replace the reflector and fully tighten its fixing screw. See diagram B.
Switch off the electricity at the fuse box by removing the relevant fuse or switching
off the circuit breaker before proceeding with the installation.
