Performance and functions can be limited by type of used fi ber. The specifi cations are only guaranteed when a single mode fi ber in which light travels in single mode at the measured wavelength is used. In the case in which the measured
wavelength is less than the cut-off wavelength of the used fi ber, or a multimode fi ber is used, a measured spectrum may be inaccurate due to speckle noise. Please be careful especially when measuring high coherency sources like gas laser
and laser diode.

The AQ4305 is a high power broadband light source that uses a halogen
lamp. The AQ4305 is used in conjunction with an optical spectrum analyzer
and can measure wavelength dependent loss characteristics of optical devices
and optical fi bers used for optical communication and visible light range.
