specifically for copper cable and backplane applications. Integrating Q:ACTIVE

components into each end of a passive cable assembly or backplane channel

boosts the signal and improves receiver sensitivity to provide a dramatic decrease

in BER and an increase in reach - up to three times that of a passive channel.

The QLx4600 is a settable quad equalizer with extended advanced protocol

support for 10GBase-CX4 (SDR & DDR), InfiniBand (SDR & DDR), SAS (2.0), and

PCI Express (Gen 1 & 2) operation. The equalizer compensates for frequency

dependent attenuation of non-return-to-zero (NRZ) data on twin-axial copper

cables or backplanes. The QLx4600 is specifically optimized for 8b/10b encoded

data and extends the signal reach to over 30m on 24AWG cable at 5 Gbps or

60 inches on FR4. The small form factor, highly-integrated quad design is ideal

for high-density 4 lane cable and backplane applications. The QLx4600 is

available in two versions: QLx4600-S30 with channel power-down functionality,

and QLx4600-SL30 with individual lane LOS support.
