Message communication time
Note Refer to the message communication capacity explanations in the DeviceNet
When issuing a message on the DeviceNet network from one node to another
(data and CMND for SEND/RECV commands, FINS command for IOWR
commands), the time from the start of the departure of the message from the
DeviceNet master on the network until the end of the departure of the mes-
sage is called the "message communication time". This is defined as the time
required for the message to reach the DeviceNet slave.
If a DeviceNet wireless unit is used, since the wireless master station works
temporarily as the DeviceNet slave and the wireless slave unit works tempo-
rarily as the DeviceNet master, this will be the total of the following 3 times.
However, regarding the actual message transmission time, since some
latency may occur within the wireless network and 1:N polling is performed,
when there are several wireless slave stations or a relay, there are relay
stages. Actual data is provided on the following page as a reference. Although
this can not be used with applications that require real time control, you
should determine whether or not this data can be used as a reference.

nication times on the DeviceNet network.
