Overload and overcurrent protection (OCP)
An important functionality of any power supply is the capability to survive in case of load
short-circuit and to avoid any consequent failure. Additionally, the power supply must be
compliant with safety rules, requiring that, in case of fault, no component melts or burns out.
The board has been tested over the input voltage mains range and in all load conditions. As
indicated by the waveforms from
circuit begins to work in hiccup mode, keeping the mean value of the current at levels
sustainable by the component rating. The auto-restart at short removal is correct in all
conditions.
