SSP Module / Basic SSP Module Compatibility
When upgrading from the Basic SSP module, the SSPSTAT register contains two additional
control bits. These bits are only used in SPI mode and are:
• SMP, SPI data input sample phase
• CKE, SPI Clock Edge Select
