Before Installation
Installation Procedures












If the hard disk has not been formatted yet, format the hard disk using either IBM DOS Ver. 3.30 or
higher, or MS-DOS Ver. 3.30 or higher. If, however, some applications have already been installed
on the IBM PC/AT or compatible, this means that the formatting has already been done. In this
case, do not format. Otherwise, applications will be erased.
Turn the IBM PC/AT or compatible on.
A DOS prompt such as

Create the directory for the Computer Monitor Software installation. If, for example, a directory
named USD is to be created, type the following:

Insert the floppy disk containing the Computer Monitor Software into drive A.

All the files will be copied into the USD directory.
When the copying is complete, eject the floppy disk from the IBM PC/AT or compatible. Store this
floppy disk in a safe place as this is no longer needed for the installation procedures.
Start your word processor or editor, and read AUTOEXEC. BAT in the root directory.

The above procedures ensure the installation of the Computer Monitor Software.
Install the Menu Program as necessary (refer to the Menu Program Manual). Remember that the
start command for the Computer Monitor Software is UMON.
