Principle of operation
2 wire NAMUR proximity sensors
are characterized by the fact that
their current consumption is
changed by the presence of a
metal object within the sensing
zone.
They differ from a standard
sensor by the absence of an
output circuit. All the processing
is carried out by the associated
amplifier or solid state system to
which it is connected.
The mode of operation is
analogous to an N.C. contact:
