Flash: Erroneous Read of the first instruction out of the integrated Flash memory
All devices are marked with the Atmel logo and the ordering code.
Additional marking has the following format:
where
“XXXXXXXXX”: lot number
At power-up when fetching the first instruction out of the integrated Flash memory, the ARM pro-
cessor may read the first two 16-bit words at 0xFFFF instead of the prgrammed value,
preventing the device to start-up correctly.
Software workaround is to add 0xFFFFFFFF, 32-bit instruction at the beginning of the program
code. When reading instruction 0xFFFFFFFF, equivalent to a NOP instruction, the ARM7TDMI
processor will execute the next instruction corresponding to the true first instruction of the pro-
gram you want the processor to run.
