2.9 Touch Interface
The touch sensing input (TSI) module of the Kinetis MCUs provides capacitive touch sensing detection
with high sensitivity and enhanced robustness. Each TSI pin implements the capacitive measurement of
an electrode.
The TWR-K40X256 provides two methods for evaluating the TSI module. There are four individual
electrodes on-board the TWR-K40X256 that simulate pushbuttons. Additionally, twelve TSI signals are
connected to a Touch Tower Plug-in (TWRPI) socket that can accept Touch TWRPI daughter cards that
may feature keypads, rotary dials, sliders, etc.
The pinout for the Touch TWRPI socket is defined in Table 4. Refer to Table 6 “I/O Connectors and Pin
Usage Table” for the specific K40 pin connections to the Touch TWRPI socket.
