10. The VME Master initiates the write transaction to the VMEbus slave. The VME Master
Data Patterns
The Tsi148’s DMA Controller can write data patterns to either VME or PCI/X space. The data
patterns can be any size transfer, and there are no restrictions on the starting address.
The is a starting data pattern is supplied by software. Software can also specify whether the
pattern should be static or incrementing. The DMA Controller can be programmed to work in
terms of 8-bit patterns (see
Figure 28: 8-bit Pattern Writes
fills the DMA buffer to a certain point, after which the VME Master empties the DMA
buffer.
