In IOM-2 mode, the MONITOR channel protocol is a handshake protocol used for high speed
information exchange between the ISAC-S and other devices, in MONITOR channel "0" or "1"
(see figure 29). In the non-TE mode, only one MONITOR channel is available ("MONITOR
channel 0").
