3.2 Multiple Client Architecture
The CN8237 provides multiple independent control and status communication
paths. Each communication path, or flow, consists of a control queue and a status
queue for both segmentation and reassembly. The host assigns each of these
independent flows to system clients or peers. As throughput requirements
escalate, the host system can add processing power in the form of additional
peers. This degree of freedom creates a scalable host environment. The CN8237
provides an ATM server for up to 32 clients.
