19.8.1 Calculation Method
19.8.2 Calculation data
When detecting an error, the device transmits the error code to the external controller, as shown in Table 19-14.
Note: If a password error occurs, TMP88FH41UG does not transmit an error code.
Operating Mode
or flash memory SUM output command is calculated in the manner, as shown above.
The checksum (SUM) is calculated with the sum of all bytes, and the obtained result is returned as a word.
The data is read for each byte unit and the calculated result is returned as a word.
Example:
The checksum which is transmitted by executing the flash memory write command, RAM loader command,
The data used to calculate the checksum is listed in Table 19-15.

A1H, A1H, A1H
A3H, A3H, A3H
62H, 62H, 62H
63H, 63H, 63H
Transmit Data
Data in the entire area of the flash memory
RAM data written in the first received RAM
address through the last received RAM address
9th through 18th bytes of the transferred data
9th through 12th bytes of the transferred data
All data in the erased area of the flash memory
(the whole or part of the flash memory)
A1H
B2H
C3H
D4H
Calculation Data
If the data to be calculated consists of the four bytes,
the checksum of the data is as shown below.
A1H + B2H + C3H + D4H = 02EAH
Page 206
Framing error in the received data.
Overrun error in the received data.
Baud rate modification error.
Operation command error.
SUM (HIGH)= 02H
SUM (LOW)= EAH
Meaning of Error Data
Even when a part of the flash memory is written, the checksum
of the entire flash memory area (04000H to 07EFFH, and
FFF00H to FFFFFH) is calculated.
The data length, address, record type and checksum in Intel
Hex format are not included in the checksum.
The length of data, address, record type and checksum in Intel
Hex format are not included in the checksum.
For details, refer to " 19.11 Product ID Code ".
For details, refer to " 19.12 Flash Memory Status Code "
When the sector erase is executed, only the erased area is
used to calculate the checksum. In the case of the chip erase,
an entire area of the flash memory is used.
