The functions described in this section are integrated into all DuSLIC chip sets (see
Figure 7
All BORSCHT functions are integrated:
An important feature of the DuSLIC design is the fact that all the SLIC and codec
functions are programmable via the IOM-2 or PCM/µC Interface of the dual-channel
SLICOFI-2x device:
Because signal processing within the SLICOFI-2x is completely digital, it is possible to
adapt to the requirements listed above by simply updating the coefficients that control
DSP processing of all data. This means, for example, that changing impedance
matching or hybrid balance requires no hardware modifications. A single hardware
design is now capable of meeting the requirements for different markets. The digital
nature of the filters and gain stages also assures high reliability, no drifts (over
temperature or time), and minimal variations between different lines.
