The Analog Front End section of the INCA-D is the interface between the analog
transducers and the digital signal processor.
A block diagram of the AFE is shown in figure 19-1.

In the transmit direction the AFE function is to amplify the transducer input signals
(handset microphone, headset microphone and stand-alone microphone) and to convert
them into digital signals. In the AFE receive section the incoming digital signal is
converted to an analog signal which is output to an earpiece of an handset or headset
and/or a loudspeaker.
