(9) TMPn counter read buffer register (TPnCNT)
The TPnCNT register is a read buffer register from which the count value of the 16-bit counter can be read.
If this register is read when the TPnCTL0.TPnCE bit = 1, the count value of the 16-bit timer can be read.
This register is read-only, in 16-bit units.
The value of the TPnCNT register is cleared to 0000H when the TPnCE bit = 0. If the TPnCNT register is read
at this time, the value of the 16-bit counter (FFFFH) is not read, but 0000H is read.
Because the TPnCE bit is cleared to 0, the value of the TPnCNT register is cleared to 0000H after reset.
Caution Accessing the TPnCNT register is prohibited in the following statuses. Moreover, if the
(n = 0 to 5)
TPnCNT
system is in the wait status, the only way to cancel the wait status is to execute a reset. For
details, see 3.4.9 (1) Accessing specific on-chip peripheral I/O registers.
