Dummy bits
28-Bit Write Using 3-Wire Mode
Data writes using the 3-wire interface are possible with a granularity of
eight bits. To write data that is not divisible by eight, some “padding” of
dummy data is necessary. For instance, if a 28-bit message is to be sent
to the tuner, four 8-bit data bytes should be sent with the first high nibble
(4 bits) being the dummy bits, followed by the 4 bits that are to be sent
to the tuner. An illustration is shown below.
