PCP BYTE REGISTER OPERATION
Data is written to a byte register by writing two successive bytes to the PCP. The first byte must contain
the register address, write bit cleared to 0, and the address of the byte register. The second byte
contains the actual data to be written to the selected byte register (see Figure 5–16).
Data is read from a byte register by writing the pointer byte to the PCP, followed by a read of the
selected byte register from the PCP. The first byte must contain the register address, write bit set
to 1, and the address of the byte register. This is followed by a read cycle to obtain the contents of
the selected byte register (see Figure 5–16).
