The Updown-counter can operate as a rotary switch. When the falling edge of the control pin is
detected and then the data pin input level is low, the counter is counted up, or the data pin input
level is high, the counter is counted down. Then the timer is counted up, the IE0 flag in CMTIRQS
is set to 1, or the timer is counted down, the IE1 flag in CMTIRQS is set to 1 and the interrupt is
generated when the IEEn bit in CMTCTL is set to 1. If both the count up and count down are
detected, both the IE0 and the IE1 flags are set to 1 and the counter CMTCH0C is updated by the
most recently detected edge.
